The Henley Photo School provides exceptional photography tuition to students of all levels; from beginners (who want to understand how to use their camera), to those wishing to become professional, and everyone in between.

Lessons are taught in a simple step-by-step manner, ensuring every student progresses as easily, quickly and as far as possible.  The content of each lesson will be set to the students exact needs.

Teaching is led by Helen Maynard, who has 20 years experience as both a professional photographer and photography teacher.  She has a photography degree from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, and a teaching degree from Oxford Brookes University.  She has taught National Diploma, A’ Level and Foundation Degree courses, as well as many private corporate groups and individuals.

Helen's professional photographic commissions vary greatly: from residential and commercial interiors, still life, holiday brochures and jewellery catalogues to international catwalk shows, portraits, weddings and events. She has exhibited her work internationally and has projects held by The British Library, The Women’s Library London and in numerous private collections.

She is regularly asked to judge competitions and give talks to photography enthusiasts, and clubs.
